The DEAN foundation is a noted non-governmental organization, committed to providing medical services for the destitute, the homeless and afflicted women and children, those living below the poverty line. The acronym DEAN is an amalgamation of the founding objective of the NGO – Dignify and Empower the Ailing and the Needy.
The prime focus of the organization is to provide medical aid and treatment to the urban poor, suffering from life-limiting illnesses, in the Chennai Corporation and the surrounding regions. For the last 17 years, DEAN foundation has been providing free and quality care to patients suffering from irreversible illnesses inclusive of Cancer, Motor Neuron diseases, in the privacy of their own homes.
The DEAN foundation has a team of specially trained medical staffs who work closely with the patient’s primary care physician. When necessary, the medical staffs step in to oversee the care and treatment to be provided to the treatment.
CAMS, in a strategic move to support the foundation in its noble cause, has provided for a team of medical staff, comprising of a doctor, a staff nurse, and junior staff nurse. The team is to extend its assistance towards outpatient service for an entire year. The treatment to be provided will be of a holistic nature, that not only aims at alleviation of pain and other distressing symptoms but also help meet social, emotional and spiritual needs with love, acceptance, and dignity.
CAMS continues to contribute towards a wider range of CSR activities that impact social welfare and education via construction and maintenance of sanitation facilities at schools, livelihood improvement projects in villages, vocational training for youth, education for the underprivileged section, promoting financial literacy and consumer education and other projects.
